Eduard Kukan and Iulian Groza to launch the second round of Visegrad 4 Moldova Debates

Eduard Kukan, member of the European Parliament and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, and Iulian Groza, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova will launch the second round of debates of university students from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Moldova.

Eduard Kukan and Iulian Groza will join the students on 5 November 5, 2014. MEP Kukan from Brussels, State Secretary Groza from Chisinau.

Eduard Kukan was reelected to the European Parliament in May 2014. He has a distinguished diplomatic and political career, being Slovakia’s longest serving Minister of Foreign Affairs (for a period of more than 8 years- before, during and after the accession of Slovakia to the EU). Currently chairing the European Parliament’s Delegation to the EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, Eduard Kukan has a profound understanding of the challenges of countries trying to join the European Union.

Iulian Groza became the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Integration of the Republic of Moldova in 2013. Mr. Groza is an expert in the issues of European Integration and is actively involved in promoting Moldova’s efforts on its European path.

“Debating the European Union: Visegrad 4 Experience” is a MESA10 project supported by the International Visegrad Fund and implemented in cooperation with partners from Visegrad countries and Moldova. The project aims at sharing the EU integration and reform experience of Visegrad countries with Moldova and at strengthening the understanding of reforms needed on its European path via innovative live debates of University students from Visegrad countries and Moldova.
