On 28 October, the students from University of Belgrade, Serbia debated their fellows from Matej Bel University of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. On 29 October the students from University of Novi Sad, Serbia debated their peers from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. Both debates took place in Serbia.
Students debated a number of issues. They discussed the results of the September 2014 NATO Wales summit, assessed the situation in Ukraine and Russia’s policies in Ukraine, challenges and opportunities of the upcoming Chairmanship of Serbia in OSCE in 2015. Students also debated the importance and effectiveness of sanctions against Russia and provided outlook for Serbian- Russian relationship in the period after the visit of Russian President Putin in Belgrade in October 2014.
Students also discussed the negotiation process with the European Union, especially the harmonization of foreign policy with that of the European Union and Serbia’s position on sanctions against Russia.
